We have worked in this space for more than a decade. The first Dolium prototypes were designed with sustainability in mind, followed shortly after by our first life-cycle analysis.
We keep making progress toward being the most sustainable one-way keg on the market, and we know the job is never finished.
A cradle-to-grave study of the annual impact for 1 hL, comparing stainless steel kegs at 40 rotations over 20 years with 40 Dolium one-way kegs, across 18 environmental categories.
Conducted with VITO, a certified research institute in Belgium, to ISO 14040/44.
Worth noting: on climate change both keg types have little impact. The difference sits in ecotoxicity and metal depletion, not in CO2.
